In Season 1987-88 the Solihull Barons brought Jim Mayne over from the Aurora Tigers for his first season in British Hockey. Mayne had an outrageously good season and has gone down in hockey folklore in Solihull.
Mayne registered over 100 goals in 35 games and a further 89 assists playing for the West Midlands club.
